International research has confirmed that video consumption on mobile devices is showing significant growth. A pioneering study from Brightroll/Neilsen in the US shows that additional reach can be achieved with the introduction of mobile video to a traditional TV campaign.

While TV remains the first screen, the growth of video consumption across phones and tablets can no longer be ignored.

Findings from the study suggests the reach can be increased by as much as 12.7% when adding mobile devices.

Locally, Roy Morgan reports 1.5 million Kiwis now own a Smartphone, a 246% increase year-on-year and 1.4 million own a tablet, a huge 519% increase.

Our internet activities mirror this, with 39% of Kiwis now streaming videos, 20% streaming music, 18% streaming TV and another 23% downloading music or movies.
